OUR FAQS
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
I do not accept insurance, but can provide you with a "superbill" or a detailed receipt for your visit. You will be able to submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Even though you may not be reimbursed, the amount disbursed sometimes cumulate and can be applied to your deductible.

Please call your health insurance company to confirm that your acupuncture benefits are covered out of network.
Here are the CPT codes I use: 97810, 97811, 97813, 97814
CAN I PAY WITH MY FSA/HSA ACCOUNT?
Absolutely!
DOES IT HURT?
Hard to say how you will feel it, but in general, once the needles are inserted, they should not be painful. Different people have different tolerances. I can always adjust to your sensitivities, and meet you half way. It is fair to say that while acupuncture may come with a little discomfort, it is momentary, and the emphasis should be kept on the potential outcome.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM MY APPOINTMENT
Your first appointment includes an evaluation, and a treatment. I will listen to your concerns, gather information about your issue, and evaluate your posture/movements. We will design a treatment plan that works for you. Come ready to unwind for a second, and give yourself the space needed to support your body, and mind. You are welcome to bring shorts or comfortable clothes to change into, but not required. I will guide you through the needling. I often use e-stim (electro-stim) in combination with the needles. E-Stim saturates the nocioceptors in the area, and reduces pain.

Once the needles are in place, you will rest for approximately 10-15 minutes. This is your time to relax!

DRY NEEDLING?
Dry needling is specific to TRIGGER POINTS! It involves inserting, and manipulating a needle in a trigger point in order to reestablish a healthy balance at the neuromuscular junction. The "twitching" action experiences during dry needling may create post treatment soreness up to 24-48 hours.

Dry needling has two primary mechanisms; 1. Mechanical - where the needle creates a small non traumatic injury in the tissue, 2. Chemical - where neurotransmitters are released in the neuromuscular junction, and depleted, allowing the muscle to relax.

Dry needling is very effective! But come in well hydrated, and lightly fed.
